On Thursday, August 9, I visited the beach entrances from 17th to 26th Avenues, and saw and photographed several dogs off-leash.
Despite the fog, there were many people on the beach. I observed a woman walk onto the beach at Corcoran Lagoon with her dog on leash, then stoop down and turn her dog loose among people sunbathing on the sand.
This dog was running loose on the beach and into the surf, below the mean high tide line, within the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary (MBNMS).
There were also several shore birds on the surf line, within the MBNMS, until...
...this dog owner turned his dog loose and told it, "Go play!"
This is what the dog played with.
and he invited a friend along to help.. the dog turned loose by the woman at Corocoran Lagoon Beach. This is harassment of wildlife in the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary.
